1. Purpose of this policy

This policy explains how Safarplan processes personal data when you browse the platform, create an account, search for travel, make a booking or contact support.

Depending on the requested service, Safarplan may act as controller for its own operations and share certain data with travel suppliers, which then process it under their own obligations.

2. Data we may process

Identity and contact details

Name, date of birth, title, nationality, email address, phone number, postal address and account information.

Travel information

Itinerary, accommodation, travellers, preferences, special requests, travel document number, issuing country, expiry date and the information required by a supplier to fulfil a booking.

Payment and billing

Amount, currency, payment status, transaction references and billing details. Sensitive card data is generally entered and processed by certified payment providers; Safarplan may receive an identifier, partial information or a status needed to manage the transaction.

Technical and usage data

IP address, device, browser, language, pages viewed, actions taken, security logs, cookie preferences and approximate location inferred from the IP address.

Support communications

Messages, attachments, request history and records required to follow up a file.

3. Why we use this data

  • to search for, book, confirm and manage requested services;
  • to process payments, refunds and fraud checks;
  • to create and secure your account;
  • to send information required for your journey;
  • to answer requests and improve support;
  • to measure performance, correct incidents and improve Safarplan;
  • to meet legal, accounting and security obligations;
  • to send marketing communications where permitted, with a simple opt-out.

4. Legal bases

Depending on the processing and applicable law, we rely on performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps, a legal obligation, our legitimate interest in securing and improving the service, or your consent where it is required.

5. Recipients

Data that is strictly necessary may be shared with airlines, accommodation providers, distributors, payment providers, technical services, hosting providers, support tools, anti-fraud partners and legally authorised authorities.

Recipients receive only the information needed for their role. Travel suppliers may have their own privacy policies.

6. International transfers

An international booking may require data to be sent to the destination country or to a supplier outside your country. Where required, we use available safeguards such as contractual clauses, an adequacy decision or a derogation needed to fulfil the requested journey.

7. Retention

We retain data for as long as needed for booking, support, security, fraud prevention and accounting or legal obligations. Periods vary according to the data and context. Data is then deleted, anonymised or archived with restricted access.

8. Security

Safarplan applies technical and organisational measures designed to protect data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. As no system can provide an absolute guarantee, we review these measures according to risk and evolving practices.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, object to certain processing and withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect lawful processing carried out before it.

You may also unsubscribe from marketing through the link in each message and submit a complaint to the competent data-protection authority.

10. Cookies and preferences

Necessary cookies support the operation and security of the platform. Optional cookies are used according to your choices. Read the Cookie Policy to understand and manage these preferences.

11. Children’s data

A child’s data may be processed where required for a booking made by their representative or an authorised adult. Independent account creation or booking is reserved for people with the required legal capacity.

12. Updates and contact

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the service or regulation. To exercise a right or ask a privacy question, contact Safarplan through the help centre and provide the address associated with your account or booking.
